Brian Gribben

Brian Gribben

Your Trusted Business Mentor & Financial Partner

About Brian

As a proud Scugog resident and business leader, Brian Gribben is more than just a financial advisor—he’s a mentor, community builder, and advocate for local business success. With decades of experience in financial planning and entrepreneurship, Brian has dedicated his career to helping business owners, professionals, and familiesnavigate their financial journey with confidence.

Brian’s passion for financial advising started at just 12 years old, inspired by his father’s work in the industry. Over the years, he turned that passion into BGIP (Brian Gribben Insurance Planning)—a thriving firm in the heart of Port Perry that is as committed to the community as it is to financial security. Hiring local talent, supporting small businesses, and giving back to the North Durham community are at the core of his mission.

Brian believes that strong businesses build strong communities. That’s why he actively mentors and supports fellow entrepreneurs, offering guidance on financial strategies, business growth, and long-term sustainability. Whether through one-on-one mentorship, community partnerships, or events like the BGIP Summer Spectacular—which has raised over $137,000 for the Port Perry Hospital Foundation in the first two years—Brian is dedicated to making an impact.

If you’re a local business owner looking for insight, guidance, or just a trusted conversation about your next steps, connect with Brian.

Let’s build a thriving business community—together.

HOW IT WORKS

How the Program Works

The Mentor Exchange Program is designed to foster meaningful professional relationships, providing mentors and mentees with a structured yet flexible way to connect, learn, and grow.

Mentor Commitments & Benefits

  • Visibility & Recognition: Mentors will be prominently featured on our Mentor Exchange webpage. Premier Members will be recognized as “Founding Mentors” alongside our Board of Directors.
  • Flexible Commitment: Mentors are asked to commit one hour per month for any mentee who signs up to connect. You can choose to support just one mentee at a time or a few, based on your availability.
  • Mentee Selection Process:
    • Mentees will browse our Mentor Exchange webpage, reviewing mentor bios.
    • A “Connect” button will allow mentees to express interest in a mentor.
    • Our office will reach out to the selected mentor to confirm their interest. If confirmed, we will facilitate the connection via email.
  • Meeting Options: Mentors and mentees can schedule their meetings at their convenience—whether virtually, in person, or at our Chamber office meeting room, which is available free of charge for Mentor Exchange meetings.
  • Ongoing Promotion & Support: Throughout the year, we will actively promote the program via social media, newsletters, and testimonials, providing additional support and engagement opportunities.

Who Can Participate?

  • Mentees: Any member of the Chamber or a Durham College Business Program student can sign up.
